FOREIGN WORKER PROGRAM

The demographics of North America?s workforce are getting smaller due to the growing population approaching retirement age. Although we have educational facilities and trade schools our youth have had no interest in getting involved in the blue collar trades or construction related crafts. Based on statistical information provided by the Federal agencies Canada will loose up to one-fifth of the existing labour force in the next five years. ComFact felt that we needed to look for alternative sources in order to keep the Canadian economy working. With this in mind management has explored various coun-tries to find foreign workers that had established trade skills, could speak and write English and could pass the trades, testing programs. ComFact has been granted approval from HRSDC to bring in Foreign Skilled Workers to help and fill positions in the troubled Economy. All across Canada the need for Skilled Trades exist, with businesses closing their doors as they can?t find skilled workers for their shops. ComFact has located a very talented pool of skilled trades outside Canada that can be a saving step for struggling employers as well as employ-ers that are looking for expansion or increased production but are limited by the shortage of skilled workers.

EXPERIENCE OF FOREIGN WORKERS

All Foreign Workers are screened, skill tested and medically tested before being approved for entry into Canada. They are interviewed and tested in English for assessment of their English skills, and only pass when they can properly communicate. The English test is a mandatory test which needs to be passed in order to come to Canada. The Skilled Trades come with a minimum of 5 years experience. All individu-als have a proper working visa in place before coming and working in Canada. ComFact has established pre testing facilities designed to qualify a worker prior to them coming to Can-ada. ComFact will also arrange testing in Canada in order to provide the individual with a ?Certificate of Qualification? this certification gives the worker an equivalency of a Journeyman status as recognized in Canada by the HRSDC and the Apprenticeship Board. Where an Inter-Provincial Certification is required the individual can be scheduled for a second test that will give them the Inter-Provincial status.

COMFACT RESPONSIBILITY

In addition to any required testing ComFact secures housing, transportation, work clothes, safety gear, and anything else that the workers may need with them for the job site. ComFact?s management has inspected the schooling facilities, construction sites, manufacturing factories to inspect the quality of workmanship. We in Canada have always prerequisite a high standard of trade qualifications and work quality. ComFact has full intentions of following this standard. ComFact is pre-pared to stand behind every foreign worker. They have skills, they are hard workers and they will turn up at the job site every day. Canada is something they want to be part of and will work very hard to achieve the ultimate goal. We have found a win-win situation for all, the workers, the employers and Canada?s growing economy!

TRADES AVAILABLE

Very Broad list of Skilled Trades are available through this program; Welders, Fitters, Construction Electri-cians, Industrial Electricians, Pipe-Fitters, Plumbers, Tower Crane Operators, Ironworkers, etc. Customized assessments can be made to individual companies to develop their needs for future Skilled Trade Require-ment. This way we can line up a specialized crew that will be available for a future project. All the skilled trades have a broad range of background in various industries.

HEALTH CARE

Health care; which includes various job descriptions is another trade which Canada is in short supply. All so often we read head lines such as ?There is a nursing shortage?, ?Our Nurses are Over worked? ?Health Care is difficult to find?. ComFact has established a Medical division working with professionals around the world. You tell us the need and we can provide you with the talent. The Medical division works on the same basis as the Skilled Trades under the Foreign Worker Program. All the workers are qualified through the proper authority, will speak and write English and will have a proven work track record. They come into Canada as skilled individuals with proper knowledge ready to work.

WHAT WILL IT COST!

Hourly Rates:

The most frequently asked question is what will it cost our company to hire ComFact. Because of this frequently asked question we felt that a proper explanation should be provided.

We ask for equal pay for equal work. This means that if our worker provides the same skill in their job performance that they receive the same pay.

ComFact is prepared to provide an entry hourly wage to introduce our Foreign Worker crew to the job. This would be for the first two weeks; thereafter we ask that the employee be paid the equivalent hourly wage.

Payroll Cost:

Each employee provided by ComFact is and will remain an employee of ComFact. ComFact will provide each employee with their weekly payroll. ComFact is responsible for all Payroll Deductions, Vacation Pay, Workers Compensation Insurance, Health Insurance, and General Insurance. ComFact bills your company at the end of each work period with a seven day payable.

When assessing the cost remember you have only one expense to be concerned with and that is our billing. ComFact is responsible for all other payroll costs.

To determine this cost add the hourly wage, your vacation pay, your payroll contributions, and your health tax and workers compensation costs. General Insurance covers your operation, ComFact?s general insurance covers any accident or claim caused by a ComFact employee. When you compare the gross cost of each employee you will see that ComFact billing rate is equivalent or marginally higher. ComFact has been in this business for over 10 years and our growth has continued over this time. If we were expensive we could not survive in any economy.

Union Head Tax:

ComFact is an open shop employer but ComFact is prepared to pay a head tax if the contractor is unionized. ComFact has worked hand in hand with unions over the past several years without incident.
